Pandemic Insights | Keeping Your Healthy Habits
While so much of our daily lives has shifted since the pandemic hit, we hope that we can all remember the awakening and insights we’ve experienced over the past year and maintain our healthy habits as we leave lockdown and re-enter the outside world.
We’ve heard from so many of you who have embraced a change of pace, a slow down, and an opportunity to spend more time in nature, working out, and in the kitchen preparing meals and enjoying them around the table together. Good food, good movement, and good company are not only good for the soul, but they also keep our immune system strong which is still so important as we embrace the next phase. As we say good bye to working from home and go back to our workplaces and back to school, let’s not go back entirely and return to our old habits and routines. Let’s move forward with a healthy body and a healthy mindset and create a new normal for our work/life routines. Rather than returning to processed convenience foods and energy drinks, opt for a variety of simpler whole food recipes, like making blended smoothies or a pot of oatmeal with fresh berries and seeds, and continue to enjoy together as much as possible.
Katy Askew shares on foodnaviagator.com that “COVID-19 has boosted interest in functional foods that deliver wellbeing benefits like immunity and stress management. But while the pandemic may have accelerated this trend, functional foods are no flash in the pan.” Read the full article here, Functional food is no COVID fad: ‘Consumers have fundamentally changed their attitudes to health and wellness’.
