Our founder, Colleen Kavanagh, recently joined The Naturalist live from Expo West at the CPG Innovation Studio to discuss topics at the heart of ZEGO’s mission: transparency, purity testing, regenerative agriculture, and the future of food.

Purity Verification Started with Listening to Our Community
ZEGO’s Purity Verified program began with a simple goal: helping families feel more confident about the food they bring home.
What started with allergen testing grew as consumers asked more questions about potential contaminants and sourcing. Today, ZEGO tests agricultural chemicals, heavy metals, gluten, and allergens, with results accessible through a QR code on every package.
Transparency Only Works When It’s Understandable
Transparency isn’t just about making information available, it’s about making it accessible.
Most consumers aren’t toxicologists or food scientists. They’re parents, caregivers, athletes, and people simply trying to make informed choices. That’s why ZEGO focuses on presenting purity information in a clear, practical way that helps consumers make decisions for themselves and their families.
Transparency is a Journey
One topic discussed on the podcast was how other food brands can begin their own
For brands looking to become more transparent, our advice is simple: start with the questions your customers are already asking.
Build systems that provide meaningful information, share what you’re learning, and make that information easy to find and understand. Every step toward greater visibility can help strengthen trust between brands and consumers.
Looking Toward a Healthier Food Future
ZEGO is also working to expand access to tested, high-quality ingredients and support supply chains built around transparency and purity.
We’re especially excited about regenerative agriculture and working with farmers who are investing in practices that support soil health, environmental stewardship, and resilient food systems.
Creating a better food future will take collaboration across the entire industry, from farmers and food companies to retailers and consumers.
That’s the thread connecting everything ZEGO does: from purity testing and traceability to regenerative agriculture, we’re working to create more peace of mind through transparency.
