Gluten Free Apple Crisp
Serves 6 | Vegan
- 6 delicious apples, peeled and chopped or sliced
- 2 tbsp date syrup
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon,
- 1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- pinch of kosher salt
- Mix in 2 Tablespoons of ZEGO Gluten Free Double Protein Oats
For the Topping
Step 1: Preheat oven to 350. Line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper and Set aside.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, peel and chopped or sliced apples, add date syrup, 3/4 tsp of the cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir and combine and transfer to baking dish
Step 3: In a processor or mixing bowl, add topping ingredients, date syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, salt, and butter, and if using a processor, let it pulse for 30 seconds until it becomes combined. Mix ingredients in a bowl and add oats after and incorporate them.
Step 4: Spread topping over apples in the baking dish, and gently pat it to be even. Bake for 40-50 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.
Step 5: Let sit for about 10 minutes for the apples to absorb any water at the bottom. Serve your favorite vanilla ice-cream and enjoy!
